We purchased these 2 years ago. We ordered 3 and while the first 2 chairs went together fine, the 3rd chair had a hole that was not manufactured right and the bolt would not thread in the hole. The hole was located on the circular foot rest at the bottom, so I gave up and just wired the foot rest to the one leg that would mount with bolt. Also, yesterday after 2 years of use my son was sitting on a chair and one leg totally snapped out from under him with him on it and he hit the floor. Luckily he wasn't hurt badly, but disappointed as these chairs are supposed to have a 400 lbs weight capacity and he is under 200! It could have been much worse if a larger guest or older family member were using this chair when then happened. It's now been hauled off with the trash and we will be replacing all 3 stools with brand new stools shortly.I bought this as a vanity table chair for my bathroom. It is a nightmare to assemble. The holes don't line up with parts. It's wobbly; the swivel feature doesn't swivel. We were missing two parts. And affixing/tightening the back was a major challenge. Still not sure I'm keeping it.It's a beautiful and sturdy chair but the screws for attaching the back to the chair are not right. The Powell company makes it very difficult to get problems taken care of. There is no phone number to call and the parts requisition form is all you get. Can't talk to anyone on the phone to find out if I may be assembling it wrong (which I doubt). Poor system of service for the item makes it a three star instead of five.I bought two of the stools. Overall, the stools are fairly nice. However, one of them had two parts that did not fit. One of parts was easy enough to bend into the required shape as it is light weight tubing. However, the other part is the most substantial part of the entire stool - the seat back. The uprights were about two inches to close together (not even close). After a long struggle, I was able to bend the seat back supports apart enough to enable finishing the assembly of the second stool. Gave it two stars - one star for poor fit of parts plus one for the finished stools being fairly nice.These are high quality LARGE SEAT chairs. It took about an hour to put together each chair (I ordered three). One took a little longer as the screw holes didn't quite line up exactly, but I was able to line it up with some extra hands. The directions were simple and once I had one put together, I didn't have to view the instructions again. I watched TV while I put them together.These chairs are perfect for large people and are extremely comfortable to sit in. I recommend them 100%I had such high hopes for this chair. It is SUPER sturdy. I will give it that.... but, it is super uncomfortable. My legs actually fall asleep after sitting in it for about 15 minutes. (I'm 5'2" - maybe being short is the problem?) I bought this for my kitchen desk so I would actually be comfortable and want to work longer. Now I have to get up and move around for 5 minutes or so. I'm disappointed.I got this stool while staying at my dsughters..her stools at her counter aren't made for wide body...so now when I'm there I will be able to sit there and not worry. This stool is very comfortable, made for a wide body (nice). Had to assemble but it was very easy to do and very sturdy..would buy again.This chair has been a life saver for me, as I can no longer cook and wash dishes standing up. A bit tricky to put together but I have been using it everyday since it came and would highly recommend to anyone needing a counter high stool. Sturdy, nice looking and very comfortable!
